Advans Pakistan Microfinance Bank Expands Its Branch Network to Ghotki

Another milestone event was celebrated by the employees of Advans Pakistan Microfinance Bank Ltd. – on the occasions of opening their 13th Branch in the district of Ghotki.

Located in the province of Sindh, the capital city Ghotki inhabits a population of around 1 million. Ghotki is known to be an industrial area in the province with business presence of few of the top local FMCG, Oil & Gas, and Fertilizer companies. Apart from that, Cotton is one of the district's major crops, with forty cotton-ginning factories in Ghotki, along with Sugar mills and major agricultural crops.

The new Branch offers a financial opportunity to respond to the growing needs of the unbanked population of the District for the development of their economic and business activities. Advans is all set to seize the opportunity and better serve these customers with its tailored product and services, with a commitment to increase their outreach to the underserved.

Advans Pakistan launches its twelfth branch in Mirpurkhas

Advans Pakistan’s twelfth branch in Mirpurkhas, a city to the east of Karachi, opened its doors to clients on 16 January 2019. The official opening was held on 14 February. Staff from the institution, administrative authorities and economic operators of the Mirpurkhas District were invited to the ceremony.

The new branch will enable Advans to respond to the growing financial needs of the unbanked and underserved populations of the entire city of Mirpurkhas, which has around 600,000 inhabitants. The branch, being strategically located and easily accessible, will also contribute to the development of economic and business activities in neighbouring areas.

As he inaugurated the new branch, Zine Otmani, Advans Pakistan’s CEO, evoked Advans’ vision to contribute to strengthening local businesses and mission to provide financial services to small businesses and other populations with limited or no access to banking services. With this new branch, Advans Pakistan shows its commitment to expanding its outreach to underserved areas, enabling clients to seize economic opportunities thanks to its tailored credit and savings products.

Online Collection of Govt Taxes & Duties

Federal Board of Revenue(FBR) and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) have taken an initiative for the ease of tax payers by enabling Online Collection of Govt Taxes & Duties. The first phase of Alternative Delivery Channel project has been successfully launched on 4 Jan 2016, includes ATM Card facility which allows clients to withdraw cash and make balance inquiry 24/7 from any of the 10,000 ATMs across the country, and additional SMS facilities are also available.

Town hall meeting in Oct 2015

A Town Hall meeting was organized to provide Advans Pakistan's staff with an opportunity to interact with senior management. At the end of the meeting staff enjoyed a dinner with the Chairman, CEO and the management of Advans Pakistan.

Insurance claims successfully approved

Inauguration of the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Sales and Service Center on 31st March 2015

Advans Pakistan Microfinance Bank is pleased to announce the opening of its Sales and Service Center at Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi on 31st March 2015. It is linked to its Gole Market Branch. The sales and service center aims to facilitate its existing and new customers by providing Loan Application and product information services thus enhancing the bank’s outreach as well as contribution toward microfinance sector in Karachi.

Revision of Credit Cover Scheme

Advans Pakistan Microfinance Bank has revised its Credit Cover Scheme for its new clients. Advans Pakistan will now only be offering life and disability benefits to its clients registered from 1st April 2015.

Advans Pakistan Microfinance Bank signs agreement with Avanza Solutions

Advans Pakistan Microfinance Bank signed an agreement with Avanza Solutions, enabling Advans Pakistan to offer Alternate Delivery Channels in order to provide convenient and cost effective services to its clientele. Mahmood Kapurwala, Chief Executive Office, Avanza Solutions commented, “We are pleased to join hands with Advans Pakistan Microfinance Bank; they have done a remarkable job in terms of reaching out to poor masses. We hope to help them in achieving even greater objectives with our solutions.” Tariq Khan Baluch, CEO, Advans Pakistan said, “Advans Pakistan has a long term commitment to Pakistan and endeavors to increase its outreach to its target market the missing middle through efficient and cost effective methodologies. In line with this strategy the Bank is embarking on Alternate Delivery Channels and partnering with relevant players to implement such initiatives. These initiatives / partnerships will help provide quality services to our clients, while helping Advans Pakistan increase its outreach.” The Bank has partnered with Avanza for implementation of the following: Rendezvous will lay the foundation of middleware infrastructure at Advans Pakistan, integrating with the front-end channels, back-end host, and external systems. Vision will serve as the card production, reporting and monitoring tool providing customer, and channel and transaction level monitoring functionality. Unison will provide the bank a unified view on the agents desktop and facilitate the operations by streamlining its complaint management process at all customer touch points (call center, branches, and tellers). The solution will also integrate with the CTI/IVR to provide phone banking services.

Advans group reaches half a million clients:

Advans Group reached a milestone of 500,000+ clients. All affiliates celebrated the event on 25th September, 2014. Mr Tariq Baluch (CEO, Advans Pakistan) addressed all the employees of Advans Pakistan at the occasion. Mr Claude Falgon’s (CEO of Horus and Executive Director of Advans SA) congratulated the entire staff on being part of the milestone achieved by all affiliated financial institutions of Advans group worldwide.  “We are proud to say that our affiliates are able to reach out to over half a million clients across Africa and Asia, providing access to financial services for MSMEs who have previously had limited or no access to formal banking services. In catering for these MSMEs, the Advans group hopes that it can encourage both economic and social development in the countries in which it operates. Innovative enhanced credit cover launched by Advans Pakistan

Advans Pakistan Microfinance Bank Ltd has partnered with Micro Ensure Pakistan and EFU Life to launch an  innovative Enhanced Credit Cover for its  borrowers providing  unique  risk protection never  heard before in Pakistan. The cover settles loan in the event of death or disability of a borrower paying an additional sum to the borrower's family. Loan is also paid off in the event of sudden death of the borrower’s spouse. The cover is backed by Micro Ensure’s operational efficiency which ensures excellent customer service. EFU Life is a leading private sector life insurance company with a rich history of over 20 years.  The Company has an IFS rating of AA and the strongest financial base in the private sector.

Advans Pakistan Awarded the "Pricing Transparency" award by Pakistan Microfinance Network & Microfinance Transparency

Commencement of Business

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has allowed the commencement of business to Advans Pakistan Microfinance Bank Limited from January 4, 2013. The Advans Pakistan Microfinance Bank Limited has been licensed to operate in the province of Sindh. Initially, the bank will start its operations with one branch in Karachi. With the commencement of business by Advans Pakistan Microfinance, the number of microfinance banks operating in the country will rise to ten, which includes Khushhali Bank Ltd., the First Microfinance Bank Ltd., Tameer Microfinance Bank Ltd., Pak Oman Microfinance Bank Ltd., NRSP Microfinance Bank Limited, KASHF Microfinance Bank Ltd., APNA Microfinance Bank Ltd., Waseela Microfinance Bank Limited and Rozgar Microfinance Bank Ltd. The SBP in its statement said that the commencement of business of Advans Pakistan Microfinance Bank Limited will result in a significant increase in the market share of regulated microfinance banks within the overall microfinance sector.
